We have a sustainable mission to complete. It is our aim to create a fully natural and circular way of growing microgreens, plants, vegetables etcetera, both in the homegrown as the professional market. We achieve this by using only 100% natural ingredients in our products. The waste of industrial grown hemp is our base, so all of our grow media are made from 100% natural fibres. After composting, all our products contribute to a healthy and fertile soil. In this way, the products of Terrafibre Europe contribute to a CO2 zero emission society. Therefor, our hempfibre grow mat is a great product !
Using the fibrous byproduct of the industrial hemp plant, we sell Terrafibre™ Hemp Grow Mats. Terrafibre™ Hemp Grow Mats are ideal for growing microgreens, sprouts, wheatgrass and other short rotation crops. Industrial hemp fibres are separated, cleaned and needle punched to produce a 100% biodegradable soilless growing medium.
Fibres are separated through a decortication process without the use of any chemicals, and our needle punching technique creates a light texture for roots to easily grow through.
Hemp fibres have high water retention, keeping seeds wet through germination. All of the hemp used is grown, processed, and manufactured in Canada.
An easy way to grow microgreens indoors year-round, these hemp grow mats let even beginner gardeners produce a successful crop without a lot of mess & effort as peat moss.
Hemp grow mats are very well usable in hydroponic systems, like vertical farming. In these indoors systems growers grow microgreens in about 2 weeks time. Each system had its own size of trays and mats, smaller trays and bigger ones. If people grow microgreens in their homes they use trays of approximately 10×20 inches. Simply place the hemp grow mat in any suitable sized grow tray that has a raised pattern in the bottom for air circulation. Sprinkle seeds of your choice, then keep them moist with tap water twice a day, support germination and sustain them until they’re ready to harvest. It’s possible to give them special microgreens nutrients to germinate to the best quality. It is good to know that each kind of micro greens has its own nutrients preference. In a hydroponic system growers use the specific water nutrients.
The hemp fibrous mats are ideal for growing microgreens, wheatgrass & sprouts. They are with Industrial Hemp and are 100% fully biodegradable & compostable. The grow mats are pH Neutral and weight 300 gsm/m2. Hemp Fibres hold 1050% their weight in water and they are Carbon Capturing.
We sell by online stores and platforms different kind of grow mats and of different dimensions. The family of grow mats are to obtain in 300 grs/m2 and 750 grm/m2. However, the grow mat of 300 grm/m2 is best used for growing microgreens and seeds of sprouts. We have in stock

There are different methods of growing plants, seeds, microgreens, flowers, etc. Hydroponic is a method of growing plants without soil using nutrient-rich water. Hydroponic uses less water than traditional soil based systems. Hydroponic growing microgreens allows fatter growth and higher yields thant traditional soil based growing systems. People at home mostly grow their micro greens in trays, while professional organisations grow on mats in a so called dithes of several feet long.
Aquaponics is a method of growing plants, seeds germination, vegetables and fish in harmony. It is an eco-friendly, sustainable and self-sufficient germination way. Fish create waste that feeds the plants while the plants clean and filter the water that’s returned to the fish tanks, similar to a lake works in nature.
